Tacora Resources Inc. (Tacora) is an innovative iron ore mining and development company focused on the acquisition and revitalization of iron ore assets. Our mining and processing facility, Scully Mine, is located in Wabush, Labrador, Canada. We are seeking a Mine Operations Manager to join our team to oversee mining operations, ensuring efficient and safe production processes. Please note that this position is based in Labrador West and the work schedule is Monday to Friday. This position is not eligible for Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) arrangements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or relevant education or background
• A minimum of 10 years of open pit mining experience with a proven track record of driving safe operational excellence
• A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a mining environment
• Driver’s License (Required)

Responsibilities

• Lead Operational Excellence in daily mining operations activities.
• Monitor and control operational performance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards
• Implement operational improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency to deliver the Mine Plan.
• Develop annual budgets and establish performance targets to drive accountability and operational excellence across the group.
• Direct and coordinate the execution of projects and plans to achieve the desired results in safety, quality and cost.
• Monitor key performance indicators on a continuous basis to improve process efficiency, product quality and cost effectiveness.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to promote and encourage teamwork and high-performance standards and health and environmental stewardship throughout the mine.
• Provide support and feedback to the team to ensure continuous improvement and development.
• Other duties as assigned.
