About The Position

This is a bargaining unit position represented by IBEW 2337. The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment and facilities, including draglines, coal crushers, conveyors, vehicles, and shop equipment. It also includes performing painting, carpentry, and construction work, as well as operating heavy machinery. The position requires the ability to identify and solve operational inefficiencies and waste within the mine. The hourly rate for this position is $39.97.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
5 years of heavy equipment mechanical experience (diesel engines, hydraulic systems, conveyor maintenance, welding / fitting, rigging/lifting)
5 years dragline experience working on Marion and/or Bucyrus draglines preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing skills required.
Work is of a physical nature and performed in and outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
May be required to work a rotating shift of up to 12 hours.

Nice To Haves

Computer experience preferred
Previous MSHA experience preferred

Responsibilities

Safely inspect, repair, and maintain all types of mechanical equipment and facilities including draglines, coal crushers, coal conveyors, vehicles and shop equipment.
Perform painting / carpentry / construction work.
Operate large motorized equipment, mobile cranes, forklifts and trucks.
Recognize inefficiencies / waste in mine operation and problem solve to eliminate it.
