About The Position

This role involves providing prompt, high-quality Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency care to surface personnel at AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Mine sites. Responsibilities include surface response and rescue, ambulance transport to medical facilities, and treatment with the option for release back to work. The position also requires providing information about work-related injuries to AGA Safety Officers, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and safely administering and logging controlled substances. Additionally, the role involves assisting in EMS education, such as EMR, EMT, and CPR training, and providing instruction during OSHA and MSHA trainings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of verifiable paramedic experience
  • Valid Nevada paramedic license
  • National Registry (NREMT-P)
  • AHA BLS & ACLS

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of verifiable paramedic experience
  • Current 32-hour Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) or refresher
  • Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) certification
  • National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Spirometry certification
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) specimen collection certification

Responsibilities

  • Safely and consistently provide prompt, high-quality ALS (Advanced Life Support) Emergency care to surface personnel at AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Mine sites.
  • Perform surface response and rescue.
  • Provide ambulance or company vehicle transport to the most appropriate medical facilities, or treatment and release back to work.
  • Provide information about work-related injuries to AGA Safety Officers, including database tracking and notifying them via email/phone/text for ALL hours.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance for all personal medical calls, providing only the need-to-know information for AGA.
  • Safely and responsibly administer, log, and maintain controlled substances/narcotics per protocol, policy, and practice.
  • Assist in EMS education such as EMR, EMT and CPR and provide training during OSHA and MSHA trainings.
