About The Position

Our Mine Maintenance department, composed of approximately 68 people, is integrated with the Mine Operations and Mine Utility teams and focuses on safe and reliable operation and minimal downtime of all mine assets in collaboration with the overall mine production budget. As a Mine Maintenance Electrician, you will perform maintenance/electrical troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems to include low, medium, high voltage, and AC/DC systems related to underground mining equipment. Coordinate maintenance activities with mine production and operations to ensure well planned and coordinated actions are consistent with the goals of the mine. Perform proper risk assessments and inspections of work areas and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Five years of applicable mine electrical experience required
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining efficiency
  • Ability to work with limited directions/supervision is essential
  • Must be able to lift, pull/push and carry equipment, tools and other objects weighing up to fifty pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Formal education/training in the electrical discipline preferred
  • MSHA electrical certification is a plus
  • Successful candidate must pass the Solvay underground mine maintenance electrical test at the grade B level
