About The Position

The purpose of the position of Mine Geologist is to aid the Project Mine Geologists with ore drive development mapping and direction control, air leg rise mapping, UG sampling, ore spotting, and stockpile management.

Requirements

  • Aid the Project Mine Geologists with ore drive development mapping and direction control
  • Aid with air leg rise mapping
  • Aid with UG sampling
  • Aid with ore spotting
  • Aid with stockpile management
  • Provide mining direction to ensure optimal ore position for stoping
  • Ensure ore is extracted to maximise recovery and minimise ore loss and dilution
  • Undertake sludge and stockpile sampling as required
  • Mark up ore drives and stope areas ahead of mining
  • Maintain accurate records to maximise recovery and minimise dilution
  • Ensure all data captured is recorded in a timely manner
  • Provide company representation and geological direction for personnel on night shift
  • Assist in entry of production data and the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Liaise with the Geologists and Metallurgists to assist with ROM ore stockpile management to optimise the blend into the Process Plant
  • Update all plans and sections with production, survey, and drilling data
  • Assist with training Geological Technicians
  • Assist with general on-site and underground operations as required
  • Attend and actively participate in shift change meetings and provide accurate handover notes/information on problems, events, and process changes to cross shift
  • Communicate and promote effective cross functional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate and support business improvement initiatives within the business
  • Work as part of a small team and actively contribute
  • Communicate relevant information and data to other personnel through formalised shift changes and use data reporting systems
  • Identify specific areas that have the potential for improvement and cost savings
  • Participate in and utilise the change management process for identified problems and opportunities to make improvements
  • Prioritise and complete tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by your supervisor within required timeframes
  • Be punctual to work and all required site meetings
  • Undertake other duties as lawfully instructed

Responsibilities
