ASARCO Ray Mine is seeking a Mine Geologist to support copper production at an open-pit porphyry copper deposit that processes sulfide and oxide ores. The role supports safe and efficient ore extraction through geological interpretation, ore boundary definition, and field validation at an autonomous haulage, high-tonnage open-pit mine. It helps ensure ore control decisions are grounded in field observations and geological data, and that ore routing supports Mine-to-Mill optimization and LSXEW leach material performance. The position connects geology with operations, planning, and metallurgy to generate site-wide value. It reports to the Chief Mine Geologist. The position involves daily production geology activities in both active-pit and office settings, including ore control, mapping, logging, sampling, geological model updates, reconciliation, and quality reviews. The successful candidate will work closely with operational and technical teams and follow site HSE and technical reporting standards.
