About The Position

Requirements

  • Degree in geology required.
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience required.
  • Experience with mine planning / geological modeling software and other relevant tools.
  • Understanding of geological principles, ore deposit types, and mineralization processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in open-pit gold mining is considered an asset.
  • Experience with reverse-circulation (RC) drilling is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Knowledgeable in data management and geological and resource estimation tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team effort as well as individually.
  • Strong interpersonal and both oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds’ safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Working closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure grade drilling is successfully carried out.
  • Managing and interpreting data gathered through grade control drilling to ensure short term production goals are met.
  • Assessing and managing ore loss and dilution in the field to maximize operational revenue.
  • Gathering and interpreting geological data for the purpose of producing geological models.
  • Collecting and interpreting samples in support of our ML/ARD management plan.
  • Working closely with the processing team to ensure crusher and mill feed is optimized for throughput and recovery.
  • Collaborate with the geology team members to develop procedures with respect to geology
  • Stay current with mine geology trends and introduce any new information into work assignments.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to ensure compliance with industry and operational requirements
