Due to organic growth, Northern Star (Pogo) LLC have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Mine Control Operator at our world-class Pogo operation in Alaska on a rotational camp schedule.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience in an underground mining environment
Knowledge of the machinery and equipment in use in an underground mining operation
Knowledge and experience in radio communications, using multiple channels
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
Detailed working knowledge of the Mine Safety and Health Administration Act & regulations.
Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.

Previous experience in dispatching or logistics desired

Responsibilities

Monitor and control ventilation fans and mine water inflows according to site procedures and notify the responsible engineer in the event of faults
Continually communicate with the shift supervisors regarding production and safety throughout the shift
Communicate assignments to operators as directed by shift supervisors
Ensure all bogging, trucking, production drilling, development drilling, charge up operations and service crew operations are accounted for in terms of operator, machine number, location, tonnes bogged and trucked, material type, mechanical and electrical breakdowns and mine delays
Coordinate the movement of gear between mining and maintenance crews to minimize the idle time of the transition.
Deliver detailed information as required by mining and maintenance supervisors
