About The Position

The Millwright manages project installations and supervises contractors. The role involves physically demanding work, including lifting, moving, and handling large equipment parts. The position works with other departments to support safe operations and compliance with company policies and procedures. Work may involve different shift rotations and short-notice call-ins.

Requirements

Able to lift 23 kg.
Able to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Able to make sound and safe judgments.
Strong computer skills, including the MS Office Suite.
Strong project and time management skills.
Excellent mathematical and mechanical skills.
Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility; food manufacturing experience is preferred.
Positive, optimistic, hardworking, and motivated to take on challenges and put in extra effort.

Nice To Haves

Electrical/Power Engineering ticket.
Experience and/or education in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Mechanical training.

Responsibilities

Manage project installations within allocated time and budget.
Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.
Operate hoisting and lifting devices and machine tools as needed.
Install, align, take apart, troubleshoot, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment using appropriate tools.
Work with various departments to ensure company policies, safe-work practices, and SOPs are in effect.
Ensure contractors have WCB approvals, complete plant safety program orientation, and sign confidentiality statements.
Supervise contractors.
