Requirements

  • Industrial Millwright certificate or qualifications (433A or 426A)
  • 3-4 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge and experience working with high-speed equipment
  • Knowledge and experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic components
  • Read, write and communicate (English)
  • Proficient mathematical and computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude with a good knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods and trade practices
  • Ability to lift 60lbs and work in a cold environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild a variety of meat processing and packaging equipment including stuffers, smokehouses, chopper machines and high-speed packaging equipment.
  • Repair and complete preventative maintenance on high-speed processing and packaging equipment including PLC controlled equipment, conveyors, and vacuum pumps.
  • Inspect and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery as required.
  • Remove and replace worn or defective parts.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs and maintenance.
  • Responsible for maintaining food safety standards and report food safety issues to QA immediately.
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by reporting hazards, accidents and incidents.
  • Follow all prescribed SOPs, HACCP and GMP procedures.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
