Report to and coordinate with the maintenance leadership to ensure all maintenance duties are performed efficiently and all mechanical systems are functioning properly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 2+ years of related experience in mechanical maintenance; knowledge of using and repairing machines & tools
  • Basic knowledge of cutting & welding (vertical & flat position). Must demonstrate knowledge.
  • Must possess good work ethics and teamwork skills.
  • Update and use job-related knowledge.
  • Ability to perform continuous physical activity to include standing, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling and using various hand tool & machinery.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in remote, isolated, or confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in all existing weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
  • Provides emergency & unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine service.
  • Prepares and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Assists electricians when needed.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Install and repair machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect equipment, structure, or materials
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers or subordinates.
  • Must be very exact in work and be sure all details are done. Errors could injure machine operators or stop production.
  • Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Maintain equipment on a routine basis.
  • Determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Operate, test and inspect equipment and evaluate performance.
  • Lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Clean-up areas after work is done.
