About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking maintenance Millwrights for the Oxea facility located near Bay City, TX. This is a local position with no per diem, ideal for candidates in the area. The work schedule is 4-10s, but candidates must be available to work overtime and call outs as needed, with the schedule subject to change. A valid driver's license is required. NCCER certification is highly preferred; if not certified, candidates must pass a craft test. Previous experience as a Maintenance Millwright is required.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
  • OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
  • Job site orientation
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Millwright

Responsibilities

  • Installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines.
  • Moves machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
  • Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
  • Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
