About The Position

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Millwright in Deer Park, Texas. This role performs hands-on maintenance in the Global Maintenance Work Process, responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of process and rotating equipment used in industrial processing. The mechanical equipment may include ANSI pumps, blowers, fans, gearboxes, conveyor belts, hydraulic systems, conveying systems, baghouses, mixers, and agitators. This job requires hands-on field work to determine the cause of equipment failure, locate spare parts, and install spare parts using repair procedures and machinist techniques for alignment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a Journeyman Millwright or successful completion of a millwright apprenticeship.
  • 3 or more years of experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Must have a current, valid US Driver’s License.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Responsibilities

  • Review the job package and verify work can be carried out safely.
  • Create and follow hazards assessment indicating safety, health and environmental considerations for a job.
  • Perform the task as per the conditions of the Safe Work Permit.
  • If significant additional problems are identified during the job that may need a new work order, thoroughly investigate the source/cause of the problem according to the value-added work process.
  • Complete the work and return equipment to operations.
  • Assist in the analysis to ensure the problem is corrected.
  • Leverage trade skills to apprentices and other maintenance associates.
  • Assist in the development of Maintenance Work Procedures.
  • Feedback information on job package quality and Root Cause Analysis data as required.
  • Always follows standard work procedures.
  • Create a field procedure when a procedure does not exist.
  • Initiate procedure updates as improvement opportunities are determined.
  • Participate in procedure audits as requested.
  • Review procedures as required.
