About The Position

Millwright Field Operations — North Dakota About Water Resources Group WRG is a family of self-performing civil construction companies, including Rice Lake and Rice Lake West. We build water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, heavy civil, and commercial projects throughout the Upper Mid-West and Mountain West regions — and we're known for giving our people real responsibility, early. Primary Function Millwrights are responsible for installing, aligning, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment on construction sites, ensuring precision installation in accordance with manufacturer specifications and project drawings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of Millwright experience in industrial, mechanical, or heavy civil construction preferred.
  • Precision alignment and rigging techniques
  • Reading blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Use of hand and power tools, cutting, and welding for fabrication
  • Safety protocols for heavy equipment, rigging, and confined space work
  • Detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, able to work independently and as part of a crew, and physically able to meet the demands of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship program or trade school certification preferred.
  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment plant equipment is a plus, but not required.
  • Basic familiarity with a tablet or mobile device for daily reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, and level industrial equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, tanks) according to blueprints and manufacturer specifications
  • Perform precision alignment using laser alignment tools, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Rig and move heavy equipment safely using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues on installed equipment
  • Fabricate and fit metal parts as needed, including cutting, drilling, and welding
  • Coordinate with foremen, pipefitters, and other trades to ensure proper sequencing of installation work
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
