This role involves a wide range of diversified and difficult duties using technical electronic diagnostics, computer equipment, and a variety of precision instruments. The Millwright will be responsible for diagnosing, dismantling, repairing, lubricating, and reassembling general maintenance equipment. This includes starting and observing machinery to detect or verify the correction of malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance such as inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, or lubricating equipment, and tearing down, replacing, repairing, installing, and assembling equipment, parts, components, and accessories. The position requires specific knowledge of pumps, conveyor systems, motors, and drives, as well as the ability to repair and maintain industrial equipment like conveying systems and major machine centers such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers. The role also involves reading and understanding drawings and printed instructions, moving machinery and equipment using various tools, working safely under high pressure, and possessing a basic understanding of line-ups for pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers. Adjustments to mechanisms, tension on nuts and bolts, and clearances between parts will be necessary. The Millwright will align machines and equipment, assemble and install equipment, layout mounting holes, replace defective parts, and level bedplates. The job requires working rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled or required, and maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations. The company also expects employees to remain current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending classes as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
