About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our maintenance team at our Moose Jaw Refinery. In this role, you will be responsible for executing maintenance work assignments to support safe, reliable plant operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring equipment performance, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Journeyman certification or Apprentice in Millwright / Industrial Mechanic
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Experience working with rotating equipment in an industrial setting
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, codes, and procedures
  • Experience with vibration analysis tools (or willingness to develop proficiency)
  • Understanding of metals and machining practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair capabilities
  • Ability to plan and execute maintenance work effectively
  • Collaborative team player with cross-functional flexibility
  • Willingness to support work outside of primary trade when required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • A self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial equipment, including compressors, turbines, mixers, reciprocating drivers and pumps (centrifugal and positive displacement)
  • Complete equipment alignment, bearing repairs, seal replacements, and component installations
  • Conduct machine shop work (e.g., drilling, tapping, threading, milling, grinding)
  • Monitor pump vibration and maintain vibration analysis programs
  • Maintain detailed equipment records in CMMS and ensure routine inspections are completed
  • Assist with installation of new equipment and upgrades
  • Operate heavy equipment safely when required
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment
  • Perform general plant cleanup and maintenance support tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with other trades and departments to complete work efficiently
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures
  • Support emergency response activities in accordance with site plans
  • Identify and mitigate workplace hazards
  • Report incidents, spills, and unsafe conditions promptly
  • Adhere to Gibson Energy “Authority to Work” procedures
  • Contribute to a safe and environmentally responsible workplace
