Millwright Technician
About The Position
Millwrights are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in various settings, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role involves maintaining all plant mechanical equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Additionally, the position is responsible for the installation and modification of new or old equipment, troubleshooting systems, maintaining plant facilities according to safety requirements, performing preventive maintenance, managing parts supply, and assisting other trades. The role also requires construction, pipe-fitting, and welding skills, as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work area and adhering to safety rules.
Requirements
- Be able to read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic circuits
- Be able to do pipefitting and layout work along with light construction and welding
Responsibilities
- Uses appropriate safety measures
- Uses appropriate measurement equipment and techniques as trained
- Records and maintains documentation and data as required
- Follows applicable work instructions
- Use good housekeeping skills to maintain the work area
- Follows directions and instructions of all supervisory personnel
- Maintains good relations with co-workers, management and visitors
- Maintain all plant mechanical equipment
- Installation and modification of new or old equipment
- Maintain and repair all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Installation of new or modified equipment
- Trouble-shoot all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Maintain plant facilities as to safety requirements
- Perform mechanical preventive maintenance of all equipment as assigned
- Maintain parts supply for use in equipment
- Assist other trades in repairing, installing and trouble-shooting plant equipment
- Be able to do needed construction and pipe-fitting-welding
- Keep assigned machinery and work area neat, clean and orderly
- Follow safety and shop rules
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
