About The Position

Millwright Technicians are part of the Maintenance Team in the Production Department and are responsible for rotating equipment Maintenance and overhauls across the site. Millwright Technicians will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Team leads and be responsible for the maintenance and overhaul of process, utilities, and marine equipment. Requirements

  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Millwright trade in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Journey Person with Red Seal qualification.
  • Experience coaching/mentoring apprentices and less experienced Millwrights.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit).
  • Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace).
  • 9/80 dayshift schedule.
  • Are willing to work outdoors during inclement weather in all seasons including heavy snowfall and periods of heavy rain.
  • Are able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces. Plant design conditions provide structures that are significantly taller than common in industry, individuals must be comfortable with heights as well as travel to and from the workface at heights.
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Have a Valid Driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Dual trade an asset (instrumentation, Machinist).
  • Heavy manufacturing facility experience an asset (Pulp and Paper, Mining, Upgrading, Refining, Aviation etc.) Other qualification also relevant.
  • Experience in construction or Mega Project environment (multi-disciplinary teams, multi culture,).
  • Turbine overhauls experience an asset (Frame or Aero Derivative).
  • Centrifugal and reciprocating Pump experience.
  • Mechanical seal experience.
  • Dry gas seal experience.
  • Hydraulic system maintenance experience.
  • Belt drive and cooling fan maintenance experience.
  • High level of manual handling and rigging experience.
  • Experience working in an industrial digitized/new technology is a definite asset.
  • Multistage Centrifugal Compressor experience an asset.
  • Reciprocating Compressor experience an asset.
  • Cryogenic experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Millwright Technicians will be part of the site Mechanical team responsible for the safe and efficient execution of Rotating Equipment maintenance and overhauls on equipment and articulated mechanical equipment in the process trains, Utility, and Storage and loading areas.
  • Support site continuous improvement both in terms of efficiency but also digitalization initiatives and opportunities to drive best in class performance.
  • Drive best in class performance by embracing a learner mindset to become a digitally enabled technician of the future leveraging technology and data, artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, analytics.
  • During operate individuals will be required to analyze data through different tools and lenses and be able to work with remote office staff to solve various complex issues within their field of expertise. Each individual must be fully committed to become an expert in their field enabling quick decision making with fit for purpose and cost-effective solutions.
  • Support Turnaround and Major Maintenance Teams as required to provide site expertise and guidance during pre work phases and execution.
  • Support major planned turnaround activities working adjusted shift patterns for defined periods.
  • Act as mentors for both operations teams and Apprentices to share knowledge and experience to better enable efficiency and best in class performance.
  • Support and develop Minor maintenance by Operations philosophy through training and demonstration so skills and knowledge can be shared to better enable a highly effective and highly trained operations team able to multi skill.
  • Champion the strategy of Lean and Continuous Improvement within the discipline for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Be willing to cross train in skills to become a technician of the future utilizing AI, robotics, and data to become a digitally enabled worker.
  • Effective collaboration skills, team player attitude, and learner mindset will be essential personal attributes to contribute to a high performing multi discipline maintenance organization.
