About The Position

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused mechanic with at least three years of cement plant or heavy industrial maintenance experience. They have hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, motor and bearing replacements, alignments, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and compressors. This individual can troubleshoot mechanical systems, read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and support reliable plant operations. They are dependable, physically capable of working in an industrial environment, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive workplace. As a Mechanic C, you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant and quarry equipment to support safe, reliable operations. You will diagnose and repair mechanical systems, replace and install equipment components, perform alignments and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment, and assist with new equipment installations. You will work with precision measuring tools, interpret mechanical drawings and specifications, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

At least three years of cement plant or heavy industrial maintenance experience.
Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, motor and bearing replacements, alignments, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and compressors.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to use precision measuring tools.

Physically capable of working in an industrial environment.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience with bearing replacements, motor replacements, motor alignments, equipment rebuilds, preventive maintenance, compressor experience, screw conveyors, belt conveyors, elevators, gearboxes, and various pumps.
Minimum of three years cement plant or heavy industry experience performing mechanical / preventive maintenance tasks.
Stable work history.
General mechanical and millwright skills.
Ability to perform the necessary mechanical repairs relative to cement plant operation.
Ability to use necessary measuring devices, and tolerances understanding to perform the duties of the position.
Lubrication system troubleshooting and system repairs.
Basic Hydraulics.
Basic equipment part nomenclature understanding.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and manufacturer’s specifications.
Ability to make necessary motor and equipment alignments.
Ability to perform basic vibration and troubleshooting on equipment.
