Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment at our biorefinery of tomorrow. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and troubleshooting of complex systems. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our production and processing equipment operate efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • We are not expecting a candidate to have experience across all facets of plant operations, but individuals should be at least knowledgeable across most trades. We let experts do their job, but we also need to know how to integrate and work together.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant trade or safety certifications preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in millwright work, preference for industrial, manufacturing, industrial food production, or petrochemical environments.
  • Strong knowledge in several categories: mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, industrial machinery, basic electrical / electronics, metal fabrication & welding, pipework, rigging, etc.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment such as grinders, drills, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and related components.
  • Read & interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and technicians to support the construction and operation of our biorefinery.
  • Assist engineers by providing practical information from hands on experience while respecting the trade-offs between “good enough” vs “perfect”.
  • Operate hoists, cranes, and other heavy equipment to safely transport goods and machinery.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on equipment for performance and safety regulations.
  • Follow OSHA and other safety guidelines to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assist with facility upgrades and modifications as required.
  • Participates in site acceptance tests, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
