About The Position

This role involves assisting in the general maintenance of plant equipment to prevent failures and malfunctions. The apprentice will support the development of maintenance programs, analyze repairs, troubleshoot root issues, and provide assistance during emergency maintenance and repair work. Maintaining tools and equipment in safe, clean, and good working condition, as well as keeping a clean, safe, and organized work area, are key aspects of the position. The role also includes maintaining records of daily maintenance activities, assisting co-workers, adhering to company policies and safety regulations, and performing ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements

2+ years’ experience in the maintenance industry specific to mechanical equipment.
High school diploma or technical certification.
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to assess, identify issues, research, and solve mechanical problems.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Sound mechanical skills.
Ability to work with many different departments, and with all levels of management, and staff to assist everyone in achieving their goals.

Nice To Haves

Pursuing Industrial Mechanical Millwright Technician post secondary education is an asset.
Knowledge/experience with welding/brazing is an asset.
Knowledge of the food packing/processing industry is an asset.

Responsibilities
