About The Position

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 7am-3:00pm with a paid lunch.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years related experience.
  • Must successfully complete any required regulatory training and forklift training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform basic and on some occasions advanced mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeymen's Credential preferred

Responsibilities

  • Capable of planning and arranging work in an orderly way and complete with an appropriate level of instruction and supervision for Class A.
  • Capable of working from a print or a sketch and taking down own field measurements and producing output on any type of job with quality workmanship.
  • Be able to do common rigging necessary for handling equipment of a type used in plant in a safe, orderly manner.
  • Have a working knowledge of materials required to use which will withstand various chemicals in the plant.
  • Be able to install, dismantle and assemble any plant machine or equipment such as compressors, vacuum pumps, pumps, gear reduction drives, including electrical work.
  • Be able to determine proper tolerances and fits on shafts, bushings, keys, bearings, etc.
  • Be able to use measuring instruments such as calipers, feelers, micrometers, levels; to give lifts, tolerances or alignments of equipment when required.
  • Be able to satisfactorily pack any stuffing gland in the plant with proper packing.
  • Be able to fabricate and erect any ordinary structure or equipment from structural steel as required by the plant, including electric, gas, welding and brazing.
  • Be able to do ordinary pipefitting, repairs to pipelines, replace, repair defective valves, etc.
  • Assist supervisor with spare parts inventory levels.
  • Maintain shop and plant to be clean and orderly and free from safety hazards.
  • Pipefitting, mechanical repairs to equipment, electrical work, boiler repairs, welding or brazing, packing stuffing boxes, cleaning condensers, repairs to buildings, erection of new equipment and steel supports, and various miscellaneous types of work necessary to maintain operations of the plant.
