About The Position

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Millwork Operations Supervisor. This role is responsible for various operational functions within the millwork department. The supervisor will manage order fulfillment, "will call" services, and on-time delivery, ensuring efficient product selection, loading, and transportation. They will also address issues related to shipment, delivery, and order backlogs. A key part of the role involves managing the transportation function, including adherence to Department of Transportation regulations and legal load requirements. The warehouse function includes receiving products, reconciling purchase orders, inventory control, product storage design, and preparing products for shipment. The supervisor will train, guide, and coach materials-handling personnel. Additionally, they will oversee the warehouse, equipment, vehicles, yard, and grounds to maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant work environment. Loss control activities, including fire, theft, and fleet safety, are also under their purview. The role requires maintaining good housekeeping, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the yard, warehouse, trucking, maintenance, and safety program functions.
  • Manage the order fulfillment, “will call”, and on-time delivery functions including product selection, loading, and transportation.
  • Resolve problems regarding shipment or delivery of an order, and order backlog issues.
  • Manage the transportation function including compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and legal load requirements.
  • Manage the warehouse function including receipt of products from internal and external suppliers; reconciliation of purchase orders; inventory control and storage design; pulling and loading products for shipment; training, guiding and coaching the materials-handling personnel.
  • Manage warehouse, equipment and vehicles, yard and grounds to ensure a safe, OSHA compliant work environment.
  • Manage loss control activities including fire, theft, and fleet safety.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
