About The Position

As a Milling Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of ADM's Rice Mill in Arbuckle, CA — keeping the facility running safely, sanitarily, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HARPC, HACCP). You will train and supervise both salaried and hourly employees across operations and facility maintenance.

Requirements

  • At least three years of production and one year supervisory exposure in a food processing or similar environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to plant health and safety, with experience leading safety programs
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety frameworks such as HACCP or HARPC
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal — and the ability to lead through coaching, conflict resolution, and direct feedback
  • Technical competence in mechanics, instrumentation, controls, and utility systems
  • Proficiency with computer systems and performance-tracking tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe, efficient daily operation of the Rice Mill across safety, quality, and production
  • Supervise, train, and develop both hourly and salaried team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Interview and hire production staff as needed
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures to drive consistent, optimum efficiency
  • Partner with the Commercial team to develop the milling schedule and meet contract deadlines
  • Assist in troubleshooting production challenges, optimizing yields, and controlling costs
  • Support third-party audits and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HARPC)
  • Help implement safety programs, including Loss Control Standards (LCS), across the facility
  • Report directly to the Plant Manager and contribute to plant-wide goal setting and achievement
