About The Position

The Mill Turn Swiss CNC Machinist sets up, edits programs for, and operates multi-axis CNC lathes and mill-turn machines ranging from 2 to 7 axes. The role is responsible for producing parts to blueprints and specifications, maintaining quality through accurate inspections, and meeting production schedules and delivery deadlines. The position is onsite in Madison Heights, Michigan, with a Monday–Friday schedule of five 8-hour shifts. Overtime is available, and weekend availability is required. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the worksite or relocate before starting.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 5 years of CNC machining experience, including setup, programming, and operation of 2–7 axis machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering prints, and CAD files.
Knowledge of GD&T and design intent.
Experience using precision inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
Ability to reliably commute to the worksite or relocate before starting.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture parts according to blueprints and specifications.
Edit programs and optimize machining processes.
Operate 2–7 axis CNC lathes and mill-turn machines.
Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments.
Identify worn or damaged cutting tools and recommend program improvements.
Meet production schedules and ensure on-time delivery.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 7S principles.
Work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
