About The Position

This role is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and welding on heavy machinery within the mill. The technician will operate various equipment, utilize precision tools, and understand schematics. The job requires the ability to work in challenging environments, including high temperatures, humidity, cramped areas, and heights. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with basic English proficiency.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a Forklift, Manlift, Hydralifts and other related equipment.
• Some mechanical repair and/or welding experience on heavy machinery.
• Basic cutting and welding abilities.
• Basic pipe fitting abilities, pipe threading, different types of pipe.
• Must be able to walk some distance, upstairs and carrying tools up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to reach with, lift and hold overhead approximately 50 lbs.
• Must be able to swing a 20 lb. hammer.
• Must be able to work in cramped areas, on heights and in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in high temperatures and in humidity levels (inside a mill, summertime).
• Basic ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Ability to use precision tools.
• Ability to understand schematics.
• Lubrication and oil knowledge.
• Trunnion bearing replacements.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities
