About The Position

Moog is seeking a skilled Mill Machinist for its Military Aircraft Group at its Buffalo, New York site. The role manufactures complex, high-precision components for flight-critical systems and major production programs, including F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA. The position is onsite and available for second or third shift, with a 10% shift differential for those shifts. It is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus.

The machinist performs milling operations on varied materials, sets up and operates CNC mills, interprets drawings, conducts layouts, and inspects completed work. The position requires enrollment and participation in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program under federal regulations for safety-sensitive work.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; alternatively, demonstrated ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer work instructions or training in English, and to perform simple arithmetic.
• Must enroll in and participate in the company’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program for safety-sensitive work.

Responsibilities

• Perform a complete range of milling operations on all types of material using vertical mills and tracer-type milling machines.
• Set up and operate a CNC mill, making setups with specified equipment.
• Occasionally develop new methods and machining techniques.
• Interpret drawings, occasionally work without operation sheets, and perform difficult layouts.
• Work at times with minimum guidance.
• Inspect work performed and identify unusual conditions, defective materials, and defective parts using inspection equipment and processes.
