About The Position

The Mill Cleaner assists with general cleaning and maintenance of the east and west mill tandems. The role supports mill operations through basic maintenance tasks and keeps work areas free of debris. Work is performed under close supervision, with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

The position is full-time and located in Belle Glade, Florida. It is categorized as manufacturing, has no travel requirement, and may involve any shift. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or a combination of experience, certification, education, and training demonstrating expertise in related areas.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, safety protocols and compliance standards related to maintenance operations.
• Ability to work extended hours, especially during peak sugar cane harvesting season.
• Ability to work in challenging conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow instructions from supervisors and senior workers.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and perform job functions safely.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to perform moderately physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 pounds; assistance or proper techniques and moving equipment are required for objects of significant weight.
• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as tasks require.
• Ability to work indoors and/or outdoors with exposure to conditions such as dirt, cold, rain, and fumes.
• Manual dexterity and visual and hearing acuity; some tasks may require identifying and distinguishing colors and perceiving visual cues or signals.

Nice To Haves

• General cleaning and maintenance experience in a cane grinding or similar processing environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain east and west juice trays and mill decks by removing cane material, debris, and trash.
• Support general upkeep and sanitization of mill machinery as directed.
• Operate hand tools including shovels, rakes, brooms, and industrial water hoses.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in overhead, lying, or crawling positions.
• Help maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols, perform work safely, and report hazards according to established policies and procedures.
