About The Position

The Mill Cleaner assists with general cleaning and maintenance of the east and west mill tandems, supporting mill operations through basic maintenance tasks and keeping all areas free of debris. Work is performed under close supervision, with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgment. The position is full-time and located at 1500 George Wedgworth Way, Belle Glade, Florida. The role is in manufacturing, with no travel required and an unspecified shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or a combination of experience, certification, education, and training demonstrating expertise in related areas.
• Ability to work extended hours, especially during the peak sugar cane harvesting season.
• Ability to work in challenging conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior workers.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols and perform work safely.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance.
• Depending on assignment, ability to perform moderately physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 pounds; heavier objects require assistance and/or proper techniques and moving equipment.
• Depending on assignment, ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; work indoors and/or outdoors in adverse conditions such as dirt, cold, rain, and fumes; and meet manual dexterity, visual, hearing, and color-discrimination demands where required.

Nice To Haves

• General cleaning and maintenance experience in cane grinding or a similar processing environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain east and west juice trays and mill decks, including removing cane material, debris, and trash.
• Support general upkeep and sanitization of mill machinery as directed.
• Operate hand tools, including shovels, rakes, brooms, and industrial water hoses.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in overhead, lying, or crawling positions.
• Help maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols, perform job functions safely, and report hazards according to established policies and procedures.
