About The Position
The Milk Plant Tractor Trailer Driver manages the movement of 53-foot refrigerated trucks into the milk plant and out of the sallyport, pumps milk at the dairy according to production schedules, and delivers milk to the milk plant. The driver also delivers dairy products and emergency supplies to facilities throughout Virginia. The position requires a high school education or equivalent, a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license, and a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Applicants must successfully complete a prescribed physical exam by a qualified physician. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Considerable knowledge of state laws and agency regulations governing equipment operation.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct others in the use of maintenance equipment.
- Successful completion of a prescribed physical exam by a qualified physician.
- Knowledge of highway and equipment operation safety rules.
Nice To Haves
- Possession of valid tanker certification.
- Working knowledge of produce handling.
- Knowledge of general repair of transfer highway equipment.
