About The Position

The U.S. Army Reserve is seeking motivated individuals to join as Military Police Officers (31B) in the Newport News area. This part-time role offers valuable education benefits and experience in the Criminal Justice field. Military police are responsible for enforcing military laws and regulations on Army installations, protecting lives and property. Their duties include controlling traffic, preventing crime, and responding to emergencies.

Requirements

  • Must take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and qualify.
  • Must be 17 to 34 years old.
  • Must be able to meet height/weight requirements.
  • No tattoos on hands, face, or above the neck (ring tattoos are acceptable).
  • No history of a felony-level offense or DUI.
  • No major medical procedures that would prohibit service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct law enforcement patrols.
  • Interview witnesses, victims, and suspects during investigations.
  • Provide crime scene security and processing.
  • Arrest and charge criminal suspects.
