About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Military Operations Planner/Subject Matter Expert to join a dynamic, forward-based team in Hawaii. In this role, you will collaborate with a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of planners, analysts, and technical experts leveraging advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) tools and techniques to shape and inform Concept Exploration, Course of Action Analysis, and Operational Planning efforts for the Department of War (DoW), U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM), and key stakeholders. This team operates in close coordination with a parent organization located in the National Capital Region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of operational military experience
  • Direct experience with operational planning and developing concepts of operation and courses of action in support of Joint or Service Component Operational Planning efforts
  • U.S. military Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) designation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small, high-performance team environment
  • Strong collaborative skills with experience working in expert-driven, multidisciplinary teams

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 16+ years of operational military experience
  • Extensive experience planning at a combatant command or service component command
  • Experience supporting analytical studies of military operations
  • Experience with military exercises or wargames
  • 2+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools

Responsibilities

  • Apply expert-level knowledge of the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) to support planning and analysis efforts.
  • Drive innovation by bridging traditional operational planning and novel analytical approaches through creative and critical thinking.
  • Leverage deep understanding of joint, multi-domain military capabilities, BMC2 concepts, and employment frameworks to evaluate the execution of kill chains and kill webs.
  • Collect, analyze, and curate authoritative military information—including doctrine, planning materials, and capability documents—in a “smart” knowledge management environment that enables enterprise-wide insight and collaboration.
  • Translate doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures into actionable products to inform model, behavior, and simulation software development.
  • Provide Blue Force expertise during studies, experiments, and analytical assessments.
  • Deliver high-quality, high-impact written, visual, and analytical deliverables that inform senior decision-making.
