About The Position

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our four outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active-duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression. The Military Liaison implements the hospital business development plan to exceed admission targets by focusing on developing and managing productive, long-term referral relationships with primary existing and new referral sources. This position involves weekly travel within the Southeast U.S. and up to 30% travel within the Continental U.S. to meet with referral sources including but not limited to military bases, VA Centers, hospitals, crisis centers, psychiatrists, mental health and substance abuse professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • Two (2) year experience in health care, business development or marketing environment with measurable business development results required.
  • Military service experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance with an acceptable driving record in accordance with facility requirements.
  • Knowledge of Military Base accessibility and protocols; with understanding of the process for mental health referrals and treatment within the military.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and service excellence skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task and change directions quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in person, over the phone and in front of audiences.
  • Presents oneself in a positive and professional manner through appearance and conduct.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Ability to apply technical and computer/software skills.
  • Able to adjust personal schedule to accommodate the needs of the facility.
  • Able to travel overnight and fly in a commercial airliner.
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time within the Southeast United States (est. of 8 hours from facility) and Nationally up to 30% of the time.
  • Employment with Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital requires successful completion of a Level II background Screening.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and maintains strategic account management plans that support the facility clinical resources.
  • Focuses on new lead generation, quality referral source development, as well as maintenance of current accounts.
  • Establishes consistent contact with referral sources and maintains a continuum of care within the ECBH system for admissions, direct care, and discharge information.
  • Obtains and provides facility management with up-to-date information about changes in the market and competition. Maintains point of contact and protocol systems for each account. Develops and manages new protocol procedures as required.
  • Identifies opportunities for development or improvement of facility’s business processes, services, etc.
  • Collaborates with administration, director, departmental team members, and program team members in the development of strategic marketing plans, etc.
  • Participates in clinical orientation to units and/or programs and stays abreast of service changes that may be important to facility customer base.
  • Serves as point of contact for referring Providers:
  • Available to accept referrals outside of traditional workday, as needed.
  • Coordinates referrals with A&R and Clinicians to provide timely feedback to referral sources and schedule admissions.
  • Coordinates and schedules transportation for patients, as needed.
  • For VA admissions, acts as point of contact for VA personnel for any matter concerning patient needs while hospitalized and provides with general information regarding patient’s stay in facility. Assures that reports on VA admissions from the time of admission to the time of discharge are sent to VA providers in a timely manner by fax or email. Communicates medical updates to appropriate parties, as needed. Assists to coordinate discharge planning with VA.
  • For VA admissions, works with VA treatment team to increase patient satisfaction by participating in treatment teams, meeting with patients to address unique needs and improve the treatment experience.
  • Participates in outreach events and organizations in the community.
  • Assists in the development of marketing collateral and other educational materials.
