About The Position

Venesco, LLC is seeking independently licensed counselors to serve as Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC) to support military members and families at/around Whiteman AFB, MO. This role involves providing non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education to military service members and their families. The counseling addresses various life challenges including deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with parental absence, child education, spousal employment, living conditions, life skills, relationships, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss. School counselors and Child Development Center Counselors are assigned to DoDEA schools, military childcare centers, and community schools, requiring experience in a school setting for CYB positions. CYB counselors also work with youth programs, summer camps, and on-demand assignments, collaborating with military POCs to ensure contract scope and installation needs are met. Additionally, there are openings for Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC), an on-call, part-time role supporting military families during coverage gaps or surge needs, offering flexible hours and purpose-driven work. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Professions
  • Minimum 2 years of post-master’s supervised clinical experience
  • Mental Health Licensure at the Independent Practice level (Eligible license types: LCSW/LICSW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, and LMHC)
  • School Counselors must demonstrate past experience working in a school setting or other Child/Youth Services setting.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a NACI level government security clearance

  • Prior military service/military family member and/or strong familiarity with the military culture

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-medical counseling, coaching, training, and education to military service members and their families.
  • Address complex stresses of military life, including deployment, frequent relocations, isolation, children coping with absence, child education, and spousal employment.
  • Offer supportive counseling for living conditions, life skills, relationships, stress management, adjustment issues, marital problems, parenting, fear, grief, and loss.
  • For school-based positions, work in DoDEA schools, military childcare centers, and community schools.
  • For CYB positions, work with youth programs, summer camps, and on-demand assignments.
  • Collaborate with military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to ensure program delivery within contract scope and meet installation needs.
  • Provide on-call, part-time support for Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC) during coverage gaps or surge needs.
