About The Position

Leidos is hiring a licensed behavioral health professional for its Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) team, supporting Naval Base Coronado in California. The assignment rotates across a Child Development Center (CDC), a Youth Center, and a high school. The counselor provides preventive, non-medical counseling, consultation, and outreach to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth, helping address military-life adjustments before they become more significant challenges. The role involves engaging with children from infancy through age five at installation CDCs and with school-aged children, youth, and teens in before- or after-school care settings. Counselors participate in educational and developmentally appropriate activities, support children and families through transitions, coach staff and parents, and provide presentations focused on social skills and social-emotional learning. They also build rapport with families at installation and community events, report trends and issues to Team Leads, and participate in training and other assigned contract activities. The position is performed in multiple indoor and outdoor locations, approximately 60% indoors and 40% outdoors. Work may involve responding to emergent situations, traveling to locations on or off a military installation, traversing long distances and uneven terrain, ascending or descending stairs, working in outdoor weather, and sitting on the floor with children for up to two hours at a time. Site-specific requirements may apply at military installations or related worksites. The program does not require insurance claims, progress notes, or treatment plans. An iPad is provided for digital reporting that does not include personally identifiable or protected health information. Leidos also provides centralized support through a Counseling Center of Excellence. Under the described licensure portability provision, licensed MFLCs may provide program services at U.S. locations regardless of the state in which they are licensed, subject to the program's license requirements.
