Leidos is hiring a licensed behavioral health professional to join its Adult Military and Family Life Counseling team supporting Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The Adult Military and Family Life Counselor provides preventive, non-medical counseling, consultation, and outreach to service members, military family members, and eligible staff. Services use solution-focused approaches to address concerns before they become greater challenges and support people navigating the emotional and environmental demands of military life. The counselor provides face-to-face counseling to individuals, couples, and families; engages with service members and families in activities and community events; and offers coaching, guidance, and support to installation staff. The role also includes presenting at military-connected events, supporting transitions such as moving or starting at a new school, sharing installation trends with team leads, and participating in training and other assigned contract activities. Duties are performed in multiple indoor and outdoor locations, including school settings and military installations. The role may involve responding to emergent situations, traveling to locations on or outside a military base, walking long distances over uneven terrain, ascending and descending stairs, and working outdoors in varying weather. Site-specific requirements may apply at designated locations. The position requires a master’s degree or higher in a behavioral health profession, a valid independent mental health license from a U.S. state or territory, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to pass required employment and Public Trust background checks. Leidos lists a pay range of $59,150 to $106,925; actual compensation may depend on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
