Leidos is hiring licensed behavioral health professionals for its Adult Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) team at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The Adult Military Family Life Counselor provides preventive, non-medical counseling, consultation, and outreach to service members, military family members, and eligible staff. The role uses solution-focused approaches to help address military life adjustments before they become greater challenges. Counselors support individuals, couples, and families face-to-face; engage with service members and families in activities and community events; provide coaching and guidance to installation staff; and offer presentations to military communities and leadership. They also help families with transitions such as moving to a new home or school, communicate installation trends and issues to Team Leads, and participate in training and other assigned contract activities. The work takes place in multiple indoor and outdoor locations, including school settings. Counselors may need to respond to emergent situations, travel to locations on or outside military installations, traverse long distances and uneven terrain, use stairs, and work in outdoor weather. Site-specific requirements may apply. The position offers no insurance filing, progress notes, or treatment plans; an iPad for digital reporting without personally identifiable or protected health information; paid federal holidays; unlimited behavioral healthcare training; reimbursement for job-related license renewal fees; eligibility to participate in a 401(k) plan; and centralized support from a Counseling Center of Excellence.
