About The Position

The Milieu Coordinator (MC I or MC II) works in the Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Program Partial Hospitalization Program with adolescents and adults. The role facilitates therapeutic groups based on core curriculum, monitors and supports meals, and provides milieu support, de-escalation, and behavior coaching to patients in inpatient/residential and partial hospitalization programs. The position may require on-call shifts based on business needs and applicable labor laws.

The coordinator documents groups, meals, patient check-ins, and observations; supports patient safety and care routines; and may implement individual behavior management plans. In standalone programs, the coordinator may serve as the clinical lead during evenings and weekends. MC II coordinators lead more advanced groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field.
• For MC I: at least 6 months of experience in behavioral health or a related field.
• For MC II: at least 18 months of experience in behavioral health or a related field; this requirement may be waived with a relevant master’s degree.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate degree in mental health or a related degree program.
• Intern or associate license from the appropriate state licensing board.
• At least 1 year of experience facilitating groups.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate curriculum-based therapeutic groups.
• Monitor and support meals.
• Document groups, meals, patient check-ins, and observations.
• Provide milieu support, including de-escalation and crisis management.
• Monitor bathrooms and outside breaks.
• Conduct self-harm and suicide assessments.
• Support morning routines in inpatient and residential programs.
• Collect weights, vital signs, and urine in some settings.
• Implement individual behavior management plans for some patients.
• Serve as clinical lead for standalone programs during evenings and weekends.
• Lead more advanced groups as an MC II.
• Work on-call shifts when required by business needs.
