About The Position

This role is with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) Migration team, focusing on US Federal Customers and Partners. The position involves driving customer and partner engagement for migrating and modernizing existing workloads to AWS, including leveraging programs like the Migration Acceleration Program and exploring new capabilities through 1-Step AI Modernization. The candidate will work with senior business and technical leaders to help organizations achieve significant business value by transforming their IT to the AWS Cloud. Responsibilities include developing large cloud migration and modernization engagements, identifying use cases, patterns, and best practices, and developing go-to-market strategies. The role requires collaboration with various AWS teams such as sales, business development, solutions architecture, and partner sales. The ideal candidate will possess both technical delivery and business development skills, with experience in large-scale cloud migration and modernization projects, particularly with government and/or enterprise customers. Awareness and expertise in AI workloads and agentic technology within migration and modernization strategies are important. The role demands strong technical and program management skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for creating reliable solutions on AWS. The candidate should be innovative, self-directed, a strong team player, and comfortable with continuous process improvement and cross-functional collaboration. A customer-obsessed and collaborative approach is essential, along with a strong technical understanding to build customer confidence and articulate the business benefits of cloud migration. This position requires US citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of working with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration technologies, including, but not limited to, Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, or Cloud Operations experience
  • 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
  • Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences
  • 5 years of experience in customer facing roles leading large scale transformation programs or extensive customer engagements.
  • 3 years of experience developing, implementing, managing and executing field programs.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
  • US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in business economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, information technology or equivalent, or MBA
  • 10+ years of experience in technology transformation, with more recent experiences in cloud-led technology change program(s) in leadership capacity.
  • Experience with Public Sector organizations (Government, Education, Non-Profit, and/or Healthcare).
  • Strong understanding of Mandates, Security, Standards and Compliance for government customers operating in a multi-tenant infrastructure/platform as a service environment.
  • Familiarity with web services, multi-tiered systems, workflow modeling and enterprise application integration
  • Meets or exceeds Amazon’s functional technical depth and complexity for this role.
  • AWS GenAI Practitioner certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with customer application owners and development teams to determine workload development/transition status, identify and remove blockers, and develop plans for migration and modernization, including AI driven workload transformation and 1 Step AI Modernization pathways.
  • Work backwards from helping customers and partners achieve business outcomes, deliver migration and modernization business cases, and support our account teams and other regional business development teams in driving new commitments for migration and modernization to the AWS cloud.
  • Identify opportunities to build compelling proposals to help customers achieve business value from migrations, including AI modernization use cases that unlock new capabilities and accelerate innovation on AWS.
  • Provide the path forward for customers to build migration plans and business cases, and ensure clarity on AWS’s value proposition(s) for the customer as they move their workloads to AWS.
  • Collaborate with the technical and industry teams to drive consistent outcomes for customers across customer engagements.
  • Build and develop mechanisms to automate and scale the migration and modernization business across the Federal vertical utilizing AI and agentic tools.
  • Capture results and improvement opportunities. Periodically present progress to executive leadership.
  • Conduct customer briefings, present at customer events, further AWS thought leadership in the IT transformation domain.
