About The Position

Basin Material Handling is seeking a full-time MIG Welder for their Easley, SC location. This non-exempt, laborer position reports to the Weld Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various welding functions, maintaining quality standards, and accurately reporting quantities through the JobBoss process. This role offers competitive pay starting at $19.50/hour, with opportunities for increases up to an additional $2.50/hour within the first 90 days based on performance evaluations.

Requirements

• Ability to perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
• Ability to read a calibrated tape measure.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret documents finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
• 6 months required in welding.
• Familiarity with and capability of using various types of welding equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining quality.
• Responsible to the JobBoss process and reporting accurate quantities.

Nice To Haves

• 3 year(s) preferred in welding, reading blueprints, and checking weld quality.

Responsibilities

• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
• Assist other departments as required/directed.
• May act as line leader, setting up lines, and checking weld quality of co-workers as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
