About The Position

Join a high-performing production team as a MIG Welder, where precision meets speed. In this role, you’ll fabricate metal grating products to exact specs, handling everything from layout and assembly to welding and inspection. You’ll work with advanced cutting and joining tools like plasma and oxy/fuel equipment while sharpening your skills and growing into greater independence. SUMMARY: Step into a hands-on MIG Welder role where you’ll build and weld steel and aluminum grating components to spec. You’ll read blueprints, operate MIG equipment, and ensure quality through visual inspection, while also using plasma and oxy/fuel tools for cutting and prep. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding and related techniques (Oxy/Fuel, plasma cutting) for carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum is essential.
  • Candidates must have experience with overhead cranes, power tools, blueprint reading, and tape measure usage in both standard and metric units.
  • Successful completion of welding tests and the ability to interpret welding symbols and perform basic math (including fractions) are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Epicor, is preferred.
  • Two or more years of metal fabrication experience and AWS certifications (D1.1, D1.5, D1.6, or D1.2) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Bring blueprints and job specs to life by accurately laying out and assembling grating components.
  • Set up and run MIG welding equipment to meet WPS standards across various materials.
  • Shape and prepare materials using plasma and oxy/fuel cutting tools.
  • Safely operate a range of shop equipment, from cranes to grinders.
  • Earn and maintain welding certifications while supporting quality inspections.
  • Help drive quality by reducing scrap and rework.
  • Keep tools in top condition with routine maintenance.
  • Share knowledge through cross-training and onboarding support.
  • Maintain a clean workspace that promotes safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate ERP reporting for materials, production, and time.
  • Meet performance goals tied to productivity and quality KPIs.
