About The Position

Lennox AES, a division of Lennox, is seeking a skilled MIG Welder for their Weatherford, TX location. This role is responsible for performing welding tasks with precision and expertise on various materials like galvanized steel and aluminum. The welder will interpret blueprints to ensure the quality and integrity of products such as roof curbs and drop boxes. The position involves fabricating custom and standard products, communicating with management and engineering on product issues, and performing visual inspections of welded components. The welder will also work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion, and under direct supervision, spot weld metal components together.

Requirements

  • Familiar with safe welding practices.
  • Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction.
  • Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel. (Can be taught)
  • Must be physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table.
  • Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Individual must be a self-starter and need minimal guidance on daily task.
  • Must be quality oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams.
  • Individual must have a working knowledge of MIG welding machines with respect to preventive maintenance and control settings to obtain maximum efficiencies.
  • Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-year previous MIG welding experience.
  • Able to work with a positive attitude and in a team setting.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

  • Trade school or certification in welding.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production.
  • MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Under direct supervision, spot welds together metal components.
