About The Position

The MIG Welder and Fabricator will weld thick steel plates using pulse welding and fabricate steel parts to meet design specifications according to the blueprints. This position will also utilize the overhead crane along with the sit-down and stand-up forklift. Operation of the shot blast machine will sometimes be required for our paint prep process.

Requirements

  • Pass the AWS D1.1: 2020 Welder Test.
  • Must know metric measurement
  • Understand and perform weld machine setup.
  • Understand and read blueprints.
  • Perform all Essential Functions of a Heavy Plate Structural Welder
  • Weld Press Brake side plates, lower beams and upper frames together to produce a frame that's ready for the painting process.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Constant standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching outward and above the head, climbing, gripping, pinching and hand-to-eye coordination are all required as daily functions for this role.
  • Experience driving a forklift and using measuring tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Mathematical skills including tape measure down to the 1/32.
  • Reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to design custom reports as requested.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to accept and follow instructions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing and production is preferred.
  • ISO and SAP experience is a PLUS
  • Previous Lead Person experience is a PLUS

  • Must manage their standard times and available resources.
  • Comply with all established workplace policies and procedures.
  • Wear all required PPE at all times.
  • Keep workstation clean and organized at times.
  • Ability to not cause rework by making self-inflicted mistakes.
  • Employees are to speak only English during an emergency and while performing job duties where there is potential for an emergency. The rule does not apply to casual conversations between employees when they are not performing a job duty.
