The Midnight Packer, also referred to as a Packing Utility Worker, is responsible for ensuring the quality of aluminum through measurement and visual inspections. This role involves working one-on-one with a partner during the 10 PM to 6 AM shift. Key duties include reading packaging specifications, retrieving and moving racks of aluminum, preparing work surfaces, cutting wood for bundles, and using basic hand tools like a retractable knife and deburr tool. The worker will pack aluminum according to customer specifications, manually move metal and materials, and document production information both on paper and a computer. The position requires adherence to all company and safety policies, as well as packing procedures. The work environment is a factory/manufacturing setting with fluctuating temperatures (hot to cold) and a high noise level. Physical demands include frequent walking, bending, stooping, twisting, turning, climbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 25lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally. The individual must be aware of their surroundings and be able to communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.
