About The Position

The Middle School Yearbook Advisor will oversee all aspects of yearbook production, including layout and design, copy, photography, publicity, sales, and distribution. This role involves providing guidance and mentorship to student staff, fostering a collaborative and creative environment, and training students in various yearbook roles and responsibilities. The advisor will help students develop skills that extend beyond yearbook production, ensure content is accurate, relevant, and appropriate, and manage deadlines to ensure timely completion of all tasks. Additionally, the advisor will develop an annual yearbook calendar, manage the yearbook budget, coordinate with school administration, and promote yearbook sales through student-created campaigns. This position also requires clear and frequent communication with the yearbook staff, serving as a liaison between the staff, school administration, and yearbook publishers, and handling public relations issues and community feedback. The advisor is also expected to participate in continuous study, attend conferences or workshops, promote awareness about the yearbook, and supervise students during and after school work sessions.
