About The Position

Harrisburg Middle School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and positive Middle School Wrestling Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes. The successful candidate will foster skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and a love for the sport while creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of OSAA rules and standards
• Knowledge of the rules and standards for the sport coaching
• Knowledge of District Coaches Handbook
• First Aid/CPR Training
• NFHS Certified Interscholastic Coaching Course or OSAA Beyond the Scoreboard or ASEP Certification
• NFHS – Appearance & Performance Enhancing Drugs & Substances
• NFHS - Concussion Recognition & Management Certificate
• NFHS - Sudden Cardiac Arrest
• OSAA- Interrupting & Preventing Discriminatory Acts
• OSAA - Racial Equity Training
• NFHS - Annual Heat and Climate Acclimatization Certificate/Training
• SafeSchools Training (upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices that develop wrestling fundamentals and techniques.
• Coach athletes during competitions while emphasizing sportsmanship and teamwork.
• Promote academic success, character development, and personal responsibility.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
• Follow all school, district, league, and state athletic association policies and procedures.
• Complete required certifications and attend coaches' meetings as needed.
