About The Position
The Middle School Teacher provides rigorous, subject-specific instruction for grades 6–8, fostering academic excellence and personal growth during a critical developmental stage. Global Educational Excellence (GEE) operates a network of charter schools across Southeast Michigan focused on academic achievement and community. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate subject-area endorsement (grades 6–8), or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of Education
- Satisfactory criminal background check
Nice To Haves
- Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. CAP eligibility is determined at the time of application.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver aligned, differentiated instruction in the assigned subject area
- Use data and formative assessments to drive daily instructional decisions
- Implement tiered instructional supports to meet diverse learner needs
- Cultivate a disciplined, respectful, and academically focused classroom environment
- Coordinate planning within subject-area and grade-level teams
- Communicate student progress to families, counselors, and administrators
- Participate in professional development, collaborative planning, and staff meetings
