The Middle School Teacher will help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will contribute to their educational and social development. This role involves planning and implementing an instructional program compatible with the subject, grade level, established curriculum, and the needs of middle school students. The teacher will assess the effectiveness of their instructional program, maintain adequate knowledge of subject areas and child growth and development, and ensure instruction and materials are appropriate for the subject and student needs. Emphasis is placed on student application and practice of concepts, encouraging involvement from students, parents, and others. The teacher will assess individual student abilities to devise techniques that accommodate differences in learning rates, styles, and ability levels, which may include grouping or differentiating materials. Continuous monitoring of student achievement, employing various teaching methods, and providing remediation are key. Professional classroom management techniques are expected to maintain a suitable instructional environment. The teacher must show respect for all students, value cultural differences, and maintain communication with parents. Additional responsibilities include accepting assigned non-instructional duties and complying with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The teacher will also perform other duties as assigned.
