About The Position

The West Memphis School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Jr. High Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The primary goal of this role is to structure the learning environment to effectively teach the science program as outlined by the West Memphis School District Curriculum Guides and Arkansas Department of Workforce Education curriculum frameworks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate in Middle School Science or be eligible to receive one.
Hold a current, valid Arkansas teaching license in the instructional area(s) assigned by district administration as required by law or be eligible to receive a current Arkansas teaching license.
Possess qualifications set forth by the State Department of Education.

Responsibilities

Oversee all phases of the educational program for students.
Assist in program and curriculum development.
Attend all educational events for the assigned building.
Submit requests for necessary materials, supplies, and equipment in advance using the outlined requisition procedures.
Be respectful in all interactions with parents, students, and fellow faculty members.
Evaluate students on progress and report results to parents.
Submit required reports and forms to the principal in a timely manner.
Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
Provide students with quality feedback.
Report to and perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Perform other duties as assigned.
