About The Position

The ideal candidate for this position will be a devout Catholic committed to furthering the mission of Catholic education through personal witness and professional performance. This role involves fulfilling daily duties of student supervision and instruction according to Archdiocesan Curriculum Standards, as well as evaluating student performance. The candidate must adhere to expectations established by the building principal and the Archdiocese of Detroit Pastoral Code of Conduct. The position may also be open to a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a non-education background who is willing to learn classroom management and work with an educational coach.

Requirements

  • Be a devout Catholic committed to furthering the mission of Catholic education.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in an approved program in Education offered by an institute of higher education.
  • Hold currently valid Michigan teacher certification for the grade level/content area that they desire to teach.
  • Hold catechist formation certification as directed by the Department of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship.
  • Be able to meet any other local requirements pertinent to the available teaching position.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from another diocese will be reviewed during the application process.
  • A candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a non-education background and a willingness to learn classroom management and work with an educational coach may be considered.
